Tideway Tunnel Project
£440m of equity raised by Dalmore

Every year millions of tonnes of untreated sewage flow into the River Thames when it rains and the combined rainwater and sewerage system overflows into the river. The Tideway Tunnel is the solution to this problem. Tideway will upgrade London’s sewerage system to cope with the demands of the city now and for many years to come. We are proud to be a part of a project that will allow London to grow well in to the future, whilst helping to preserve and enhance the ecology of our city.

The tunnel will cost £3.8bn to complete, and an additional £1.1bn has already been spent by Thames Water for preparatory works.

  • 25km tunnel running up to 65m deep beneath London
  • Construction and tunnelling commenced in 2016 and is expected to be complete by 2024
