Michael co-founded Dalmore Capital Limited in 2009, following 5 years as Managing Director of Infrastructure Investors (I2). From 2001-04, Michael was a Director and shareholder of Noble PFI following 2 years as a Director of Edison Capital. Prior to October 1999, Michael was a Director of KPMG’s PFI advisory unit, where he worked with a range of public and private clients. Michael began his career in 1989 with KPMG, where he undertook a variety of roles in turnaround, consulting and corporate finance. In 1995, he was seconded to a project lending team at HSBC to help develop their infrastructure lending. Michael is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
John co-founded Dalmore Capital Limited in 2009, following 4 years as one of the two directors at I2. From 2003-05, John served as Project Finance Director of Carillion Private Finance, an investment subsidiary of the leading construction services company, Carillion plc.
From 2001 until 2003, John served as Assistant Director with Banco Espirito Santo, London, where he was involved in the bank’s financial advisory and lending activity in the UK. Prior to this, he spent 5 years within the PPP financial advisory team at PricewaterhouseCoopers. John began his career in 1992 as a trainee accountant with Price Waterhouse. All of his clients were public sector bodies including local and central government and NHS Trusts.
John holds an honours degree in Economics and is a qualified Chartered Public Finance Accountant (CIPFA).
Alistair co-founded Dalmore Capital Limited in 2009, following a year as a Director at Merrill Lynch, with joint responsibility for growing infrastructure origination capability in Europe and the US.
Previously, Alistair spent 2005-08 as a Director at 3i, one of the core investors in I2. From 2001-2004, Alistair was a Director and shareholder of Noble PFI following 3 years with Edison Capital. During 2005 Alistair closed a number of UK PFI projects which Noble subsequently sold in the secondary market.
Alistair began his career in 1997 with British Linen Bank, where he spent a year as part of the equity team which closed the deal to build Scotland’s first PFI-financed hospital in 1998. John McDonagh acted as adviser to the public sector on this transaction.
Alistair holds a Bachelor of Engineering honours degree.
Adrian joined Dalmore Capital Limited in summer 2010 having spent six years in the Infrastructure Finance team at The Royal Bank of Scotland plc. In his role he headed teams in the origination and execution of debt and advisory assignments for PFI/PPP projects in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. He also held directorships for a number of the bank’s UK PFI investments. Prior to RBS Adrian spent two years at Ernst & Young LLP within their Transaction Advisory Services team covering project finance advisory, valuation and infrastructure M&A. From 1996 to 2001 Adrian worked in the Corporate Finance team at Chantrey Vellacott DFK during which time his various assignments included AIM flotations, financial modelling, turnaround finance and litigation support. Adrian holds an honours degree in Mathematics and is a qualified Member of the ICAEW (ACA).
John joined DCL in January 2011 having spent three years as Director at Equitix Ltd. During his time at Equitix John was responsible for fundraising of a £100m PPP fund and investor relations. He also chaired the Investment Committee. Prior to Equitix John spent seven years as a Director at Innisfree Ltd where his role involved responsibility for primary bidding in the PFI education sector closing 13 deals and acting as board representive on the investee companies. From 1997 to 2000 John worked at ABN AMRO Bank leading the bank debt team on a number of early UK PFI schemes. John has a degree in engineering and is a qualified banker. He holds the Investment Management Certificate.
Amanda joined Dalmore Capital in summer 2010 having spent many years working as a Legal Secretary in city law firms. Amanda's experience includes working within the Projects department at Linklaters for nine years and she now provides secretarial and administrative support to the Dalmore team.
Jeff retired from Ernst and Young in May 2010 after several years as head of the firm’s public sector advisory practice in Scotland. He is currently chairman of a healthcare company and a member of a Scottish Government investment board and of Dalmore’s Advisory Panel. From 2001 to 2007, Jeff was managing director and head of European Project Finance for Royal Bank of Scotland. He had responsibility for an international team of over 60 professionals involved in lending to and equity investments in a wide range of infrastructure, PPP, power and social housing projects. Jeff was a director of the majority of RBS’s invested companies in these sectors as well as a member of the bank’s UK and group credit committees. He joined RBS in 1994 from the senior ranks of the civil service, having been recruited to found and manage a new business unit dedicated to UK PFI projects.
David's professional career of over 40 years has focused on the risk management of construction and operational maintenance of a hugely diverse range of built assets. This began with local authority housing, schools and colleges with Fife County Council. In 1986 he was posted from Scotland to London as lead partner of AL Currie & Brown’s London office. David set up a London based team dedicated to advising banks in the City of London on the construction and operational risks inherent in the financing of built assets. Transactions included hospitals, schools, roads, housing, police and fire stations, magistrates’ courts and the like in the public sector. After leaving the Currie and Brown Group in 2004, Ainsley was invited to set up a similar team with Davis Langdon. David retired from Davis Langdon in 2010.
John is a consultant with Allen & Overy LLP, having been a corporate partner and head of the firm's construction practice from 1988 to 2002. His experience includes major M & A transactions and, recently, the sale and purchase of projects. He also advised Grosvenor Capital, Enskilda, West LB and Lazards on some of the earliest venture capital limited partnerships. He has advised on numerous projects in most sectors worldwide and has particularly specialised in PPP projects. He advised on some of the first PFI transactions in the UK, including the Second Severn Crossing and Law (Wishaw), Greenwich and St George's hospitals. More recently, he advised Barts and The London NHS Trust on their £1bn project and in 2010 advised the funders on Southmead hospital project. He is a joint author and editor of A Contractual Guide to Major Construction Projects (Sweet & Maxwell 1999, second edition to be published in 2011) and is a contributor to The ICE Manual of Construction Law (revised edition to be published shortly).
